Naan Ee director SS Rajamouli's next to release !

After the huge hit of Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi, he chose to dub a Telugu movie of Siddharth and rake in mollah.

Now when Rajamouli's Naan Ee is doing brisk business, Sathish has managed to get the dubbing rights of Rajamouli'sTelugu hit Chatrapathy. 

Plans are on to release the movie asChandramouli in Tamil.

Known for his shrewd marketing, he has announced that Rajamouli's Telugu biggie Chatrapathythat starred Prabhas and Shriya Saran will be released in August in Tamil as Chandramouli.

Chatrapathy has romance, action and sentiment in the right mix. Veteran actress Bhanupriya, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Pradeep Rawat among others are in the cast.

Music is by Maragathamani and the lyrics are penned by Vivega and Piraichudan.

Vishnuvardhan's film titled as Jai

We all know that director Vishnuvardhanis busy directing Ajith, Aarya, Nayantharaand Tapasee for an untitled movie being procued by A M Rathinam.

Now read the headline again? Confused! Hold on! The title has nothing to do withAjith's film.

It is the name of the Tamil version of the Telugu hit Paanja that was directed by Vishnuvardhan which starred Pawan Kalyan in the lead role.

Jai is the Tamil dubbed version of Paanja. It was a story on underworld mafia. Vishnuvardhan, who made movies like Billa, Arindhum Ariyamalum and Pattiyal, made his directorial venture in Tollywood with Paanja.

Sarah-Jane Dias, Anjali Lavania, Jackie Shroff among others were part of the movie.Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music for the movie.

Though the movie witnessed a lukewarm response at the BO, sources say expectations are high in Tamil for it involves the likes of Vishnuvardhan and Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Buzz is that special promotions are being planned for Jai and the movie will hit the screens later next month.

Meanwhile Vishnu is busy directing Ajith and Co in Bengaluru. The movie reportedly featuresAjith as an ethical hacker.

Balu Mahendra directs Siva Karthikeyan

Hold on! Don't get confused by the headline.

Indeed veteran filmmaker Balu Mahendradirected Siva karthikeyan for a scene in his forthcoming film Edhir Neechal, which is the first production venture of actorDhanush.

This film is being directed by Senthil, an associate of Vetri Maaran. Music is byAnirudh and Velraj is handling the cinematography. Vettri Maran andDhanush were also present on the occasion.

Siva karthikeyan expressed his thanks to Balu Mahendra for gracing the shoot and canning a scene involving him. 'It is a dream come true moment in my life', he said.

The movie is supposedly based on sports and Dhanush plays an athlete. Priya Anand plays the female lead and Aravaan fame Dhanshika is also in the cast.

Remember Siva Karthikeyan played one of Dhanush's friends in 3 recently.

All set for Thillu Mullu remake

We had reported last week thatRajnikanth's yesteryear blockbuster Thillu Mullu, a comedy caper directed by K Balachander will be remade with Mirchi Shiva in the lead role.

Now we have more details. Guess who would be directing the movie. Badri, a former associate of Sundar C known for his penchant to humour has been entrusted the task.  

Thillu Mullu though was a Rajnikanth film, one cannot forget the roles played byThengai Srinivasan and Sowcar Janaki.

They ensured that we split into laughter every second when they appeared on screen.

It seems the makers of the the remake version have decided to cast Prakashraj and Kovai Sarala for the roles in the remake version.

They add that major portion of the movie would be retained. However at the same time small changes would be made in the script to suit contemporary audience.

Banupriya makes a comeback

Banupriya was the sought-after actress in early 1990s. A classical dancer and a great performer on screen, she stole the hearts of many.

However in the recent past she chose to go on a hibernation and was seen rarely on mega serials. 

But she was back doing a brief role inDhanush starrer 3 as his mother. Now she is all set to a meaty role in a movie titled En Peyar Kumarasamy, which is directed byRathan Chandrasekar.

Speaking about the film, he says, 'It is about a boy who loses his mother and is brought up an adamant father. He finds a girl whose love reminds him of his mother.

The psychological changes he undergoes on losing her as well is what this film is about'.

The film is slated to hit screens by the end of August. The audio would be launched soon. Interestingly actor - director Parthiban has sung a song in the album, set to tunes by Thashi.

Jiiva turns Musician

Actor Jiiva seems to be experimenting with each film.

The latest we hear is that the actor is learning to sing from Shweta Pandit. The voice beyond 'Idhayam intha Idhayam' from Ajith's Billa 2.

The duo where spotted at the shooting spot of 'David'. Interestingly Jiiva plays a musician in the film while Vikram is said to play the role of a fisherman.

David is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and the film has music by Anirudh.

Anirudh Ravichander signs multiple projects !

The young musician who captivated the young generation with his first album '3' starring Dhanush and Shruthi Hassan is going to be back with a bang.

Latest we hear is that Anirudh has signed three big projects this year and the details are to be officially announced soon.

Also the composer is presently busy withDhanush's home production movie.

The untitled film has Siva Karthikeyan in the lead role and it is directed by Vetrimaran's assitant.

MMB that is the short form of Mirchi Shiva's upcoming movie.

This shooting of the movie began yesterday and it is said to be filled with lots of fun, the title abbreviation will be out soon says sources.

Sruthi Hassan heaps laurels on Prabhu Deva

Actor -director-choreographer Prabhu Deva has one more admirer in the filmdom.

The dancing sensation who is one of the sought-after filmmaker in Bollywood thanks to his films Wanted and Rowdy Rathoreentering Rs 100 crore club, is all set to do a romantic movie next. 

Buzz is that it would be a remake of his  acclaimed Telugu hit Nuvvastanate Nenodantana. The Telugu version featured Siddharth and Trisha in the lead roles and it went on to become a huge hit.

Interestingly the movie was remade in Tamil by director Jayam Raja.

Now Prabhu Deva is all set to wield the megaphone in Hindi. Sources say that a newcomer Girishwould play the lead role with Sruthi Haasan being assigned to do the female lead.

Says Sruthi Haasan, 'Prabhu Deva is one of the most talented people and multi-tasker. I am happy and thrilled to be part of his film now'.

On the film, she says, 'I have seen the original and loved it for its feel good romance and characterisation. I’m sure it will rock in Hindi too'.

Prabhub Deva recently directed an advertisement starring international cricketer Virat Kohli in Bangkok. Now he has begun all works to direct the film.

Nandhita Das sparkles in Neer Paravai

National award winning filmmaker Seenu Ramaswamy of Thenmerukku Paruvakattru fame, has almost completed the shoot for his next Neer Paravai.

The movie stars Vishnu, Sunaina and veteran Bollywood actress Nandhitha Dasin the lead roles. 

The movie which is being produced byUdhayanidhi Stalin for his Red Ginat Movies, is being shot in the fishing hamlets of Rameshwaram. 

Actor Vishnu, who plays the lead role, says, “Nanditha is one of the very few actor who lets her eyes do all the talking., She is an phenomenal actress was amazing working with her'.

Neerparavai is a love story with beach-and-fisherman backdrop. The highlight of the movie is that besides Vishnu and Sunaina, Nandhitha and Samuthirakani play prominent roles.

Music is by Raghunandhan with lyrics by veteran lyricist Vairamuthu. Interestingly Vishnu's wifeRajini is working as associate director in the film.

Nayanthara's next with Vaanam director

It seems Nayanthara is enjoying her comeback stint in Kollywood.

The actress who was last seen in Boss Engira Baskaran almost quit the filmdom after rumours spread thick and fast that she will marry her long-time beau Prabhudeva and settle in life.

However things have taken a turn in her life and the romance allegedly broke up.

The actress is back in the hunt now. She is assigned to do a couple of films including director Vishnuvardhan's movie opposite Ajith. The film also has Aarya. Also she is busy doing a flick in Telugu.

The latest buzz is that Nayanthara is supposed to do a Telugu film titled Krishna Vande Jagadgurum, being directed by Krissh of Vanam fame. It is a bilingual film that will be made simultaneously in Tamil too. The Tamil version is titled Ongaram.

Interestingly the Tamil version will feature Santhanam in the lead role. Also the film will provide an opportunity for Rana Dugappati to try his luck in Tamil. He plays the lead role in both the languages.

Shooting for Ongaram is currently on in Chennai. Though Vaanam could not make it big, Krisshis confident that Ongaram will make allamends.

Bhagyaraj completes his task

Acclaimed Tamil film actor - director K Bhagyaraj was entrusted with the task of selecting the best films in Malayalam film industry for the year 2011.

He was appointed the head of the jury. After a week on the job, he completed the work and announced the winners in Thiruvananthapuram.

Known as the King of Screenplay for his movies were intense and a pleasure to watch, Bhagyaraj, while announcing the awards, stressed the need to promote documentaries and short films that represent a powerful medium to chronicle the life and culture of a generation.

Bhagyaraj said selection of films for the award was a challenging task. 'Most of the entries were box office hits, yet of good quality', he said.

Indian Rupee, directed by Ranjith under the banner of August Cinema, India was adjudged best film, while Dileep won the best actor award and Swetha Menon adjudged the best actress.

Vishwaroopam songs to be released

The clock has started to tick. The wait begins for Kamal Haasan's Viswaroopam, touted to be the most expected movie of the year, being enacted and directed by Kamal Haasan himself.

The teasers and trailers released thus far has only increased all hype and expectations.

Sources say the film is in its final stage of post-production and Kamal Haasan is taking all steps to ensure thatViswaroopam ends up as a visual marvel on screen.

The movie to be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi also features Andrea Jeremiah, Shekhar Kapur, Rahul Bose and Pooja Kumar in key roles. Before that all eyes are on the audio of the film.

Sources say that Shankar - Ehsaan -Loy have come up with catchy music. The album has five songs including theme music.

Sources close to Kamal Haasan say, ' the audio will be launch as a prelude to the movie anytime soon. Mega plans are in place for the audio launch and the label has been acquired by a popular audio company'.

Kamal Haasan fans too are waiting with bated breath to listen to the songs before the film hits the screens.

Thuppaki Movie Updates !

Finally here are some interesting updates about Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Thuppaki.

The film will hear it's final judgement on25th July, sorting out the title issues.

Then AR Murugadoss will be releasing the much awaited Teaser of Thuppaki says sources.

Audio Launch of Thuppaki will be held at August last week or might be shifted to September 1st week it seems.

Billa 2 Idhayam song telecasted

The most melodious song from Ajith's Billa 2 which was trimmed off from the silver screens has find its way through the small screen. 

Idhayam intha Idhayam the song which was sung by Shweta Pandit has lyrics penned by Na. Muthukumar with music byYuvan Shankar Raja.

But the makers felt that the song made the film dragging, so they trimmed it down from the movie.

Since the audio of the song is a huge hit, the First Look video of Idhayam intha Idhayam has made it's way through the small screen now with getting repeated telecasts in famous Tamil music channels says sources.
